T1548827118The Cinematic Orchestra play a very special show in celebration of the 20th birthday of seminal UK label Ninja Tune. This jazz and electronic outfit, created in the late 1990s by Jason Swinscoe, is considered one of the most innovative and captivating bands in the UK. In both live and studio context, the Cinematic Orchestra employ a live band which improvises along with a turntablist and electronic elements. In the last three years, the 'Cinematics' have played far and wide at every type of venue, from the Jazz Café to the Jazz Bop via Ronnie Scott's. They toured the North American Jazz Festival circuit with their dates culminating in a prestigious support slot for John McLaughlin in Central Park. They have also appeared at numerous festivals including Homelands and Essential (UK), Sonar (Spain), Celerico De Basto (Portugal), North Sea Jazz and Drum Rhythm (Holland), Cannes (France), Fuji Rock (Japan) and Montreux (Switzerland) and have headlined The Big Chill twice. Guests will include Lou Rhodes, Grey Reverend, Heidi Vogel, PC and the 24-piece Heritage Orchestra. | |
