The Dave Brubeck Quartet arrived in the UK for the first time in 1958, the first US artists to tour Britain following the end of the Musician's Union restrictions on performances by foreign artists. They took the country by storm and filled six out of ten of the top ten jazz slots during their visit. With over 40 years touring under his belt, Dave Brubeck's name is now firmly prefixed with the term 'jazz legend'.
