Work type: Concert.

with Strings - T01894775571

Following Miller's disappearance in 1944, and the end of the war a year later, the band returned to the States and continued with a string section for a short while until it was decided that it was too expensive. Since then, fans of Glenn Miller have been denied the opportunity to hear the orchestra in concert with a string section. Until now! Through both musical and logistical arrangements, Ray McVay is able to present a limited number of shows with the Glenn Miller Strings, capturing Miller's incredible arranging ability with clarinet, saxes and the lesser-known strings.Director Ray McVay.
