Production details

The High Llamas return to the live arena after releasing their ninth studio album, Talahomi Way, on Drag City in April - the follow-up to 2007's critically acclaimed Can Cladders. The High Llamas' music has always based itself in the compositional zone of 1950s, 60s and 70s pop music, continually evolving and deepening their approach with each recording. The acoustic flavour of recent work remains present in the sound of Talahomi Way. A string quartet lays the harmonic bed of the material, joined by a subtle brass section, building on the Llamas' traditional group profile of piano, bass and drums with vibes, organ and a bit of gut-string acoustic added for good measure.
