Saxophonist, composer and ex-Jazz Messengers' musical director, Jean Toussaint left America in search of a new sound - and found it right here in the UK. His award-winning album 'The Street Above The Underground', embraces the high energy of New York with the cutting edge of London, to create a new territory where improvisation meets urban grooves and contemporary jazz is underpinned by funky beats. Toussaint has worked with the likes of Gil Evans, Wynton Marsalis, Dennis Rollins and many others to create music that is fresh, infectious and highly enjoyable.
