She creates Faaji from a refreshing mix of influences, from juju, highlife and afrobeat and fuji, with music ranging from spirituals and love songs to dance pieces. Faaji means having a good time and Funmi Olawumi and her 12-piece band, featuring the talking drummers of Nigeria plus the Naaja Soul Sisters, create hypnotic music that galvanizes and uplifts in a remarkable way.
