Production details

What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than to come and listen to Haydn’s masterly work depicting the beginning of life as told in the book of Genesis? Haydn’s ever-popular oratorio The Creation is performed by The Really Big Chorus directed by its Principal Conductor Brian Kay. Come and follow the journey in music as light burst from the darkness, seas and continents are created, and the earth is populated with exotic birds and animals. There is wonderful musical word-painting, and exhilarating writing for the chorus. Join us at 7:00 pm for the choral masterclass, or to simply arrive in time for the concert proper which begins at 8.15pm. All money from programmes and advertising will be exclusively channelled to the British Heart Foundation. Principal conductor of The Really Big Chorus Brian Kay will conduct young prize-winning soloists including Sarah Power, Ben Thapa and Frederick Long.
