An Exmoor Garland - T02106375702Devon s Northern moor was once a Royal Forest, and still supports a herd of wild red deer. From histories like the Lynmouth flood disaster, hauling a lifeboat across the moor and Pixie hunting come a wealth of tales - valorous, humorous, beautiful and silly - which are drawn together in this compilation of songs and stories. Hear what happened when Christ s spaceship landed on Holdstone Down; about a tradition of wrecking that continued into the 1990s; about the miraculous Ram, the charter and pony fairs and all that make this National Park special! Tom and Barbara Brown, have written and performed shows commissioned by a number of festivals and arts centres over the years, and all over the country. In An Exmoor Garland they return to their own roots and some of their favourite themes. Both sing and tell tales, and Tom also accompanies some material on guitar, concertina, mandola or melodeon. Tom & Barbara are leading performers on the South West folk scene, their harmony singing and Tom s instrumental work on guitar and concertina is very powerful. | |
