U Shrinivas also known as 'Mandolin Shrinivas' is a child prodigy and powerhouse of talent in Carnatic music. Shrinivas was born in 1969 in Andhra Pradesh and began playing the mandolin at the tender age of 6 under the guidance of his father, Satyanarayana and Gurus: Subbaraju and Shri Vasu Rao. Shrinivas has revived and raised the mandolin, and unknown instrument and given it a respectable status in classical music.
