Production details
The last debut recital this season puts this gifted young Chinese artist deservedly centre stage. Yuja Wang leapt to public attention in 2005 when, aged only 18, she replaced Radu Lupu at short notice in Ottawa, under the baton of Pinchas Zukerman. In 2007 she stepped in for an ailing Martha Argerich in Boston, to enthusiastic reviews. "To hear an artist so extravagantly gifted on every front is to realize how much compromise is usually involved in hearing even the most impressive virtuosos." (San Francisco Chronicle) Queen Elizabeth Hall
