Aashiyana Dance Company consists of two of the most versatile young artists Aruna Pun and Raj Bhogal who have been trained in the Classical Indian Dance forms of 'Kathak' and 'Bharatnatyam'. Within their classical Indian dance routines they include elements of contemporary dance. Aashiyana have explored the use of music taken from different parts of the world. Production details

Five young British dance artist's collaborate in a spectacular performance of world music traditions. Indian dance forms of Bhangra, Kathak, Bharatnatyam with the Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira and Samba. An evening of colourful contemporary dance fusion, stunning movement, mesmeric twists, hypnotic grooves, Latin American and British Asian Underground music collide with traditional live rhythms. The elegant and passionate movements of Kathak v Spanish flamenco and intricate soulful tabla rhythms, with the dynamic Bharatnatyam amalgamate with the vibrant beats of Bhangra and Capoeira the Brazilian fight-dance. Featuring the upcoming Azaad Dhol Group playing live rhythms and exhilarating Bhangra beats from North Indian Punjabi Folk music. The evocative rhythms of Brazil and India. Dance and music artists from different backgrounds work together in a positive way celebrating cross cultural diversity. Part of Black History Month
