Fusion - T493125747This collaboration between Coventry Carers’ Centre, Young Carers’ Project and Jonquil Events is a combination of east and west style dance forms that have been choreographed and will be performed by the Young Carers themselves! Aged between 11 - 18 years old, these Young Carers all care for a family member with a long term disability, terminal illness or substance misuse issues. Fusion will blend a diverse mix of street dance, Khatak, Hip hop and Bollywood moves to give you a performance that will be high energy, slick, and unique. Exploding on to the stage will be colourful performers against the backdrop of diverse musical songs; this is a show like no other that will leave you with an unforgettable evening all for a great cause. This event will be a fundraiser for Coventry Young Carers and all money raised after costs will go back in to providing them with the support they need. There will be a raffle in the interval with great prizes up for grabs such as a Nintendo Wii. The young carers have been involved in all stages of this event, so book your tickets now for a great night out. | |

Collisions - An Evening of Dance - T1728338533A collection of four dance pieces. Shane Shambhu's piece Impermanence brings together the essence of Buddhist philosophy and the root of Indian mysticism. It looks at how both cultures address the removal of ignorance as a way to achieve a life free from suffering and explores if this approach can be applied to modern life. His piece Bound looks at the stressfulness of train journey to an individual wanting to reach a destination urgently. [Sarra Whicheloe], a UK based Bharatanatyam dancer, presents her piece Bholenath, a contemporary choreography capturing the strength and the raw and honest nature of the god Shiva. The third performance was choreographed by members of South African Tribhangi Dance Theatre, who toured the UK in Autumn 2006. A group of Birmingham based dancers present the results of a three day long choreolab with the company. The piece was also performed as a curtain raiser for Tribhangi's performance at mac last October.Choreographer Shane Shambhu (Shane Shambhu (Impermanence / Bound< / I>).
