Noor - T1990611349Noor (meaning 'light') is a new fusion of classical dance, film and music, Anurekha Ghosh celebrates the search for mysticism connecting past with present, inspired by poets and artists from different world views. Building on the North Indian Kathak dance form by adding techniques from Butoh, Kalaripyattu and contemporary movements the company has developed a new improvised contemporary form. Four dancers will perform alongside musicians playing traditional Persian, Armenian, Indian and Pakistani instruments creating a sensuous, passionate and intimate conversation. Noor is a co-commission by co-produced by Warwick Arts Centre and co-commissioned by Pegasus Theatre, Dance City, Gem Arts Arena Theatre, The Courtyard Theatre and The Drum. | |
