Outré
Outré is a unique work - an altered theatrical world where dance, music hall and freak show images meld in a disturbing but strangely beautiful place. Six dancers move through the half-lit haze of a monochrome stage; a chanteuse sings a fragmented lyric, a mannequin waltzes in a hooped skirt, a flamenco dancer twitches to radio static and a Japanese ghost-girl gyrates in falling rain. Somewhere on the edge of consciousness, this black and white world haunts its audience like a kind of modern day masque.
