Blood Sweat and Tears - T235526902Blood, Sweat & Tears is the tender and powerful new work by choreographer [Liv Lorent], following the extraordinary transformations a young couple undergo as they learn to cope with becoming a family. The company are joined by two new international dancers for the piece, which ranges from a duet to septet performances across 80 minutes. The duet concentrates on the extreme power and tenderness involved in caring for a newborn baby and the resulting test on the relationship between a man and a woman. Using wrestling as part of its choreographic language, the two dancers fly and fall at each others bodies as they struggle for equilibrium. Designer Body - T722757529balletLORENT’s latest creation - Designer Body - is a celebration of the body transformed. Designer Body depends on the exceptional grace and strength of seven dancers as they balance revolving on their own electrically powered turntables. They begin dressed in full-length garments that accentuate and distort the stature and elegance of their bodies, and throughout their kaleidascopic journey the dancers go through a transformation as layers of clothing slip away through the choreography. The couture designed body that was presented at the beginning of the performance evolves into a nude sculptural form - a completely different kind of designer body.
