Dualia and La Leyenda - T01865570681

The company perform two of their best loved works. Dualia was choreographed by two of flamenco’s hottest stars Rojas and Rodriguez, and explores the sensuality of looks and caresses through movement and music. La Leyenda (The Legend) was choreographed by the company’s artistic director José Antonio as a tribute to the famous flamenco star Carmen Amaya who died in 1963. The piece portrays images from her life - from the slums of Barcelona to the glamour of performing on the American stage in the 30s and 40s.Choreographer Rojas. Choreographer Rodriguez. El Grito/La Leyenda - T435799338

Spain's top dance company encapsulates the spirit, passion and history of the Spanish people. From the percussive bravura of flamenco to the graceful Escuela Bolera, and with a hint of tango, the dancers are expert in a number of dance techniques. Castanets, fans, traditional flamenco 'bata de cola' dresses, effervescent heel-and-toe step combinations, and volcanic shoulder and hip actions - this is flamenco at its very best. Director: José Antonio.
