6 - Container/Magnification/Hinterland/Straight Talking

Bare Bones 6 perform an edgy and intimate programme in the round, featuring three new works by outstanding international choreographers, as well as a new solo. Portuguese choreographer Rui Horta’s Container features all six dancers, using space as both a territory to be defended and a place to achieve intimacy with others. Australian Dance Theatre Artistic Director Garry Stewart’s Magnification is a piece for three dancers where the inner workings of the body are put under the magnifying glass. Bare Bones Artistic Director David Massingham presents Hinterland, a highly physical piece for six dancers combining dazzling leaps and lifts. Straight Talking by Charlotte Vincent is a solo work, a manifesto against convention and one man’s attempt to ‘get beyond the beautiful dance’. Weston Studio
