Bf & She Was A Knife Thrower’s Assistant are two powerful dance duets that explore how we communicate with our bodies through different physicalities, cultural histories and ethnicity. The duets - one male, the other female - present examples of artistic collaborations between artists from different backgrounds, shedding lights on issues of identity, friendship and personal risk-taking. Freddie Opoku-Addaie and Jorge Crecis present Bf - Two men trapped in an unknown game of power, dominance and perseverance, yet seeking for company and communication. Bf explores the quest for a shared existence in the face of the essential loneliness of the individual and the difficulty of communication. girl jonah presents the duet She was a Knife Thrower’s Assistant - With artful use of choreography, singing and spoken text this gently provocative work brings to the stage a brief picture of a woman who it seems could be waiting backstage, reflecting on the risks we all take and wondering how we can ever be sure where danger is most likely to come from.
