Mozartiana/Twlight/The Centre and its Opposite

George Balanchine's Mozartiana is a sparkling piece of pure classical dance to similarly effervescent music from the great ballet composer Tchaikovsky. Twilight is a breathtaking mini drama by Hans Van Manen. Set to John Cage's exhilarating music (The Perilous Night) for prepared piano, a couple's quarrel deteriorates into dynamic full-blown rage, as the sound of the woman's stilettos pounds the floor matching her furious passion. The Centre and its Opposite - This is a brand new piece from Garry Stewart, the Artistic Director of Australian Dance Theatre, renowned for his contemporary choreography and receives its world premiere at the Everyman. This stylish piece is set to a rhythmically powerful electronic soundscape and presents the audience with an intense explosion of rapid-fire classical ballet vocabulary fused with hard-edged contemporary dance.
