Birmingham Royal Ballet - Pineapple Poll/The Clog Dance/Lily of Laguna pas de deux (from Hobson's Choice)Pas de deux from Don Quixote archiveThis breathtaking programme presents a work from great British choreographer John Cranko, alongside a brand-new ballet by Jessica Lang, and thrilling excerpts from some of the world-famous classics with which Birmingham Royal Ballet has made its name. In Pineapple Poll we get to see what a classic cartoon might look like if brought to life on stage. With the aid of a foottapping medley of the best of Gilbert and Sullivan and a comic choreographic touch, this is your opportunity to find out. Following the success of the excerpts on last year's tour, Birmingham Royal Ballet presents two more highlights from some of our best-loved ballets. The Clog Dance and Lily of Laguna pas de deux from Director David Bintley's Hobson's Choice, is a funny and warming peek into the lives of two unlikely lovers. The programme finishes with the stunning, virtuoso pas de deux from Marius Petipa's great classic, Don Quixote.
