Tiiwa Tiiwa (It's Ours)
The company's 20th anniversary show celebrating the energy, passion and creativity of post-modern African dance with two new pieces of work and a revival of two highlights in the company's repertoire. The first half of the performance focuses on the new works;
Clockwork (Aiduronijo), an abstract work with a contemporary twist with music by international jazz/classical composer Tim Garland and
Love Story (ljo'fe), a short piece rooted in African Nigerian dance styles. The second half revisits some of Sakoba's earlier works;
Mystical Songs, a celebratory and uplifting gospel piece and
Kabaree, a jazzy finale to mark the company's 20th anniversary!
