CarmenCarmen, immortalised in Bizet's operatic masterpiece, is a woman unscrupulous in her self-preservation, defiant and completely irresistible to the men that cross her path. She disarms with a sideward glance and manipulates every situation to her favour - until one of these men, Jose, falls desperately in love with her. Despite the faithful protestations of his fiancée, Michaela, Jose's fate is sealed and his uncontrollable passion for the dismissive Carmen can only lead to disaster.
Music Bizet

and Cheating, Lying, Stealing

Cheating, Lying, Stealing was made for The Royal Ballet in 1998 and takes its form and energy directly from a trio of scores by New Yorkers Michael Gordon and David Lang. The piece also embodies themes such as fear of loss, the breakdown of formal ideas and the manipulation of control through sexuality.
