Once upon a time, there was a castle with a heavily-bolted room where Blue Beard hid a terrible secret. He warned anyone who dared to open the door of dire consequences. Then his new bride discovers his secret... But don’t worry, it’s just a story! Using text, humour, melodrama and sumptuous dance sequences, Charles Perrault’s dark and classic fairy tale is given a contemporary feel in this new adaptation by Hélène Blackburn who brought us ‘If You Do Down to the Woods...’ in the 2005 festival Cas Public - Blue Beard website.
