Bristol based Champloo is one of the UK's leading b-boying dance companies. They take their name from the Japanese word Chanpuru, meaning to mix an unusual combination of elements to create surprising and astonishing outcomes. The company was founded in 2007 by Joel Daniel and Wilkie Branson, previously members of the street theatre b-boy crew, Physical Jerks. Highly regarded for his dance film work, White Caps represents Wilkie Branson's first major live work. Integrating lyrical film with explosive breakdance, White Caps is a multimedia experience that follows the journey of two young men as they embark on an epic and gruelling personal adventure. Created and performed by Branson and Daniel, White Caps is set to a soundtrack by Type Sun. Type Sun have a cult following on the Bristol music scene, are known for working with root tradition drums and have collaborated with a variety of artists including Phil King, Eleanor Rusbridge and DJ Rouge to create a unique score.
