Contemporary dance has never been more popular: a range of programmes are being presented at venues around the country year round. Against this backdrop it's important to ask why is there a lack of quality contemporary dance shows being created for children? Emma Gladstone, who has been programming, commissioning and producing work for young audiences for nearly a decade, chairs this panel of dance artists and professionals working in the field discussing what inspires them to create work for children, what issues they face creating such pieces, and whether there is a desire from programmers around the country to support this type of work.
