Anthony Missen and Kevin Edward Turner formed Company Chameleon in 2007. After meeting in 1994 at Trafford Youth Dance Theatre, they trained together at Northern School of Contemporary Dance before working collectively and independently with companies including Scottish Dance Theatre, Mad Dogs Dance Theatre, Rui Horta, Rambert Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Theatr and Henri Oguike Dance Company. The work asks questions of our relationship with ourselves and with other people. As we plunge from I to we, how do we navigate the space between our experience and expectations? Our insecurities and perceptions about how things should be are tested and reflected back by those with whom we share relationships. Sourced from stories and experiences from the long shared history of the performers, this new creation by Missen and Turner, brings together four exceptional performers, with an original score by Spanish musician and composer Miguel Marin. For the second part of this double bill, acclaimed choreographic duo Goddard/ Nixon (2012 Place Prize Semi-Finalists) create a newly commissioned work for four dancers, a potent and poetic exploration of an internal world where space is compressed and intense obsessions are revealed as enduring relationships signal hope.
