(confines) - the borders or boundaries of a place, esp. with regard to their restricting freedom of movement - the limits or restrictions of something abstract, esp. a subject or sphere of activity This contemporary dance piece by Australian choreographer Elizabeth Peck explores the notion of confinement and that one can be imprisoned by their own perception of self. Self imposed physical and mental barriers could perhaps be overcome, yet because of a state of mind are perceived as permanent. Confines is a dark and gritty piece challenging our perceptions of what an individual can and cannot change.
