T01982017695To mark the occasion of Channel 4's 25th birthday, BFI Southbank is hosting a season of screenings focusing on the channel’s work. As part of this season Betsy Gregory, Dance Umbrella’s Artistic Director, and Julia Carruthers, Head of Dance and Performance at Southbank Centre, have curated an evening of C4’s seminal dance films, most of which have been out of public circulation for some time. This screening will feature a number of short films from the 80s and 90s including Yolande Snaith's Step In Time Girls and Mark Baldwin's Pointe Blank (tbc). The programme will highlight the creativity and innovation of choreographers and filmmakers as the genre of dance on screen developed. This unique screening is a ‘must-see’ for anyone interested in delving into the early days of dance filmmaking in Britain. | |
