Forecasting/Likes - T559871377

The digital merges with the corporeal in this surreal double bill from European choreographers. In Giuseppe Chico and Barbara Matijevic's FORECASTING, a performer skilfully manipulates a laptop playing a reel of amateur YouTube videos, carefully selected for their human scale. The screen becomes a site for the intersection between body and image; a dizzying, hybrid experience. Banal footage of everyday objects and scenarios becomes a new tool of self-narration. Yukiko Masui: Falling Family and Lea Tirabasso: The Ephemeral Life of an Octopus - T0926936983

Falling Family is a new dance show by Yukiko Masui rooted in personal experience and exploring in movement those moments in family life that are simply not expressible in speech. It taps into the dark, conflicted, emotional space that cracks open when we encounter a loved one's illness, mental breakdown or even death. The Ephemeral Life of an Octopus - questions the strangeness of having a body: vigorous, damaged, punctured, probed and animalistic. Based on the choreographer's experience of cancer, the piece is inspired by the evolution of cancer cells and the lived experience of illness. At once scientific, philosophical and visceral, the piece looks at the dysfunction, chaos and vibrant life force of the body from within and without.

Es Morgan: Mum, I'm In The Fourth Dimension, See! and Rachael Young: Nightclubbing - T01606572086

Mum, I'm In The Fourth Dimension, See! - Combining spoken word, drag and Es Morgan's hallmark hypnotic movement, Mum, I'm in the fourth dimension, see! is a dance, a poem, a wild torrent of melodrama. In our current state of global anxiety, Mum! slips into the cracks between mass extinction and mass production, full automation and a full face of makeup. Es Morgan presents a melting pot of tensions, crises and glimpses of utopia. Please Note: This show contains some strong language. Nightclubbing - POST PUNK / POST FEAR / POST PANIC. 1981: Grace Jones releases her landmark album Nightclubbing; her body is brown and soft. 2015: Three women are refused entry into a London nightclub; their bodies are brown and soft. WE are those women, we zoom through galaxies and solar systems, traveling through time, preparing for our moment to land... IT'S NOW!

Giuseppe Chico and Barbara Matijevic: Forecasting & Lewys Holt: Phrases - T01931678242

Forcating is based on a collection of amateur videos taken from the world's largest videosharing website: YouTube. Watch as a performer skilfully manipulates a laptop on the screen of which are shown YouTube videos that had been selected to meet the human size scale. From this simple criterion arises a set of spatial and temporal displacements. The screen becomes the site of intersection between the body of the performer and the two-dimensional world of images. The result is a dizzying hybrid experience, blurring the lines between the banality of everyday situations and new modes of narration. Phrases - What do you do when dealing with miscommunication and confusion is unavoidable? Big questions, but don't worry Lewys Holt is here to help with his PowerPoint, well Keynote, presentation. Using projections of stream-of-consciousness writing, improvised movement and discussions of communication, Lewys stands united with the anxious, the confused and those who overthink to face awkwardness head-on in this subtly humorous yet unnerving piece.

Andrea Constanzo Martini/Aris Papadopoulos & Martha Pasakopoulou - T0715758718

Scarabeo, Angles and the Void - In this joyous duet, friendship is a game as much as a duel. Perceptions are challenged as extreme physicality and strict movement codes intertwine to reveal the price and pleasure of becoming an object. Combining elements of slapstick theatricality with precise choreography and under the gaze of the audience, the dancers reveal their humanity. touching.just - touching.just is a rhythmic game dealing with the absurd, idiosyncratic, awkward and episodic meetings of two performers in their effort to interact and connect. Its modular structure consists of short, incidental, random, humorous encounters constantly attempting to get in tune with the other, negotiate boundaries and declaring togetherness as a common, mutual decision. Julia Cheng and Si Rawlinson: Orlando Warrior/Ink - T097463880

Orlando Warrior - Choreographed and performed by Julia Cheng, this solo contemporary dance piece accompanied by live music explores the myth of a modern Mu-Lan. Externalising her inner battles through wu-shu martial arts and waacking, this piece examines displacement and hybrid identity, masking a yang (male) fighter behind a yin (female) form, travelling through time via physical paintings of a Warrior Poet in motion. Ink - Mixing break and contemporary dance, Ink is about the struggle between the desires of state and citizen, embodied in the movement and aesthetic of Chinese calligraphy. Drawing inspiration from the imagery of cinematographer Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) and the social commentary of contemporary artist and activist Ai Weiwei, we follow a writer who walks a fine line between art and dissidence. When ?maintaining cultural values' is the difference between freedom, imprisonment, exile or worse, a writer's life hangs on his words. Bodies fly and ink runs in this dance showcase by a rising star of UK dance.Choreographer Julia Cheng (Orlando Warrior). Choreographer Si Rawlinson (Ink).

Theo Clinkard - Ordinary Courage/Dan Canham - 30 Cecil Street - T675370313

Theo Clinkard's moving and breathtaking work for six dancers and live piano brims with visceral and eloquent physicality. When words are not enough, Ordinary Courage harnesses movement and touch to communicate as it follows a community in repair. In 2009 Dan Canham (Kneehigh, DV8, Punchdrunk, Fabulous Beast) made a film in a rotting, dilapidated theatre in Limerick, Ireland. Using that film as source material, this original piece of dance-theatre is a heartbreaking elegy for a lost and ruined theatre.

Peripheral Landscapes/Touched - T154960015

Developed in the ancient and changing landscapes of Carmarthenshire and Tornio and Ylitorno in Finland, Peripheral Landscapes is a duet performed by Eeva-Maria Mutka and Titta Court in collaboration with choreographer Gaby Agis, costume designer Helen Merrin and filmmaker Jeff Higley. From expansive coastal cliffs to dark wooded valleys and fast-flowing northern rivers, the dance gradually reveals the performers’ own histories within these places, and to each other. Touched is a duet performed by dancer/choreographer Gaby Agis and electric bass guitar player Douglas Hart, who fuse together their individual interpretations of dance and sound. Evoking the atmosphere of a live gig, the two performers appear to be in their own worlds: clashing, colliding, and rebounding through the performance space, before ultimately finding unity.
