Teenage Love Affair is an original theatre and dance production written by Zoe Murphy, choreographed by Danielle Dee Stephens and Kim Bambury and performed by the students of the Dani Dee School Of Dance. The production is based on the legend of The Maid of Sker. This legend is about a girl called Elizabeth Williams who lived at Sker House, near Porthcawl, in the eighteenth century. She loved to dance and attended many dances at her local hall. This is where she met Thomas Evans, a poor harpist, and they fell deeply in love. Her father found out however, and she was forbidden to see him. She tried to elope with Thomas but her father intercepted them and locked her up in her room at Sker House. She was kept there until she married another man, a Mr Kirkhouse. Elizabeth died at a young age, from heartbreak some say, and her ghost is still reputed to haunt Sker House. Our story is about a young girl called Liberty who falls in love with a DJ called Chance. Again, history repeats itself as her father doesn't think he is good enough for his daughter. But will Liberty suffer the same fate as our unfortunate heroine Elizabeth?
