Nutcracker and Ballet Etudes
The Nutcracker Suites - Prince escorts Clara to the Kingdom of Sweets where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy. A divertissements of spectacular dances, each representing a sweet is given in her honour. The spectacular grand Sugar Plum pas de deux with the Prince brings the finale to a glorious close.
Ballet Etudes is a one act homage to classical ballet training. The rigours of the daily ballet class are given a theatrical spin from ballet exercises at the barre that ends with spectacular bravura displays in a grand finale. English Youth Ballet's professional principals give virtuoso performances, backed up by a corps de ballet of talented local dancers and accompanied by the orchestration of the beautiful arrangements of Carl Czerny's piano studies.
