The acclaimed children's show, Echoa, returns to Sadler's Wells to make its main stage debut as part of Sadler's Wells' third Family Weekend. In this inventive performance from French four-piece Arcosm Company, drums of all descriptions are cleverly organised on scaffolding so that seven distinctly different dance scenes can unfold below. The charismatic cast of dancers, drummers and physical comedians seize the stage and blur the lines between music and movement, allowing audiences to ?see' the dance with their ears. A rich mix of choreographic invention and musical orchestration, Echoa has proved a popular hit with audiences of all ages. Family Weekend is a two-day festival aimed specifically at children, where the fun continues before and after the performance. With an array of exciting games and workshops happening all over the building, there is something for all ages. Spanish dance company Aracaladanza delighted audiences at the first Family Weekend in 2008 and now the company returns with a brand new show, co-commissioned by Sadler's Wells. Inspired by the work of the Surrealist artist Magritte, Aracaladanza’s new work, Clouds, is a dance production for audiences aged 4 to 104! In this 50 minute show a cast of eight dancers create a magical world of moving objects, marionettes and dream-like imagery - wildly imaginative and packed full of energy. Free for ticket holders with children under 4 years is a special event in the Lilian Baylis Studio running before, during and after the performances in the main house. Filmmaker Rachel Davies creates a series of temptingly interactive shadows and projections to play with, play in or just admire.

A hit at Sadler’s Wells in 2008, Family Weekend is packed with performances, games and workshops, all designed with children in mind. At the Peacock Theatre, renowned children's theatre company Theatre-Rites and innovative choreographer Arthur Pita present Mischief, a Sadler's Wells co-production and winner of the TMA award for Achievement in Dance 2008. At the Lilian Baylis Studio hit show Oogly Boogly involves up to eight babies and four adult performers, allowing parents and carers to relax and enjoy watching their child create their own movement.

A Slice of Paradise - T221704279

A Slice of Paradise is a unique show created specially for children aged four and upwards. The show is part of a Sadler’s Wells weekend of performances, games and workshops from Spanish company Aracaladanza. Using bubbles, strawberries, puppets, magic and dancing torches, A Slice of Paradise creates a mesmerising fantasy world in which everyday objects - like newspapers and bin liners - come to life. Families can come early or stay on after Saturday’s shows to enjoy the free games and events in the Sadler's Wells Foyer. These include a chance to draw on and add to a towering sculpture of paper-chain people, create a new wardrobe of paper clothes to wear or stage their own choreography on a fuzzy felt wall. There will also be one-hour workshops, giving families the opportunity to explore some fun creative dance from the show. A Slice of Paradise is suitable for ages 4 and up. This show is part of a weekend of performances, games and workshops from Arcaladanza which also includes Tac Tac, a show created specially for babies.
