Aracaladanza's Clouds - T776639609Family Weekend is a two-day festival aimed specifically at children, where the fun continues before and after the performance. With an array of exciting games and workshops happening all over the building, there is something for all ages. Spanish dance company Aracaladanza delighted audiences at the first Family Weekend in 2008 and now the company returns with a brand new show, co-commissioned by Sadler's Wells. Inspired by the work of the Surrealist artist Magritte, Aracaladanza’s new work, Clouds, is a dance production for audiences aged 4 to 104! In this 50 minute show a cast of eight dancers create a magical world of moving objects, marionettes and dream-like imagery - wildly imaginative and packed full of energy. Free for ticket holders with children under 4 years is a special event in the Lilian Baylis Studio running before, during and after the performances in the main house. Filmmaker Rachel Davies creates a series of temptingly interactive shadows and projections to play with, play in or just admire.

A Slice of Paradise - T221704279A Slice of Paradise is a unique show created specially for children aged four and upwards. The show is part of a Sadler’s Wells weekend of performances, games and workshops from Spanish company Aracaladanza. Using bubbles, strawberries, puppets, magic and dancing torches, A Slice of Paradise creates a mesmerising fantasy world in which everyday objects - like newspapers and bin liners - come to life. Families can come early or stay on after Saturday’s shows to enjoy the free games and events in the Sadler's Wells Foyer. These include a chance to draw on and add to a towering sculpture of paper-chain people, create a new wardrobe of paper clothes to wear or stage their own choreography on a fuzzy felt wall. There will also be one-hour workshops, giving families the opportunity to explore some fun creative dance from the show. A Slice of Paradise is suitable for ages 4 and up. This show is part of a weekend of performances, games and workshops from Arcaladanza which also includes Tac Tac, a show created specially for babies.
