The Genee International Ballet Competition is the one of the leading competitive platforms for ballet. Named after the Academy's founder, Dame Adeline Genee it brings together the finest young dancers from around the world, providing a unique opportunity to work with renowned choreographers; perform on international stages, and launch professional careers. Competitors perform three solos, a 19th century classical repertoire variation, a 20th century variation (Frederick Ashton or Kenneth MacMillan) and the world premieres of two specially commissioned variations (male & female) for the 2010 competition.
