Temujin Dance presents a preview excerpt from Club Universal Club Universal explores possibility and tension against the backdrop of social dance forms. Lindy Hop, hip hop and contact improvisation all feature in this new work directed by Temujin Gill, ex-Jiving Lindy Hopper and current Artist in Residence at Greenwich Dance Agency. It will be premiered in its entirety in the Purcell Room at the South Bank Centre on 29 June (www.rfh.org.uk or 0870 401 8181 to book). Club Universal has been commissioned by the South Bank Centre and Lincolnshire Dance, funded by Arts Council England with the support of gDA. Flowzaic - Flowzaic comprises five of the UK and Europe’s most talented b-girls whose specialise in breakin’, lockin’, poppin’ and nu-style. They are: Sunanda Biswas, Angel M’Paria, Yami Lofvenberg, Danielle Petrie and Andrea Parker. Flowzaic has appeared at Breakin’ Convention, at venues across Europe; it competes at the Urban Games as well as in numerous other competitions. Flowzaic has rehearsed at gDA in the past but this will be its first public performance here. NRgDANCE - gDA’s Youth Dance Collective is a vibrant mix of male and female dancers. Since September 2005 the company has worked with a variety of choreographers and dance styles. For this event the company performs a high energy piece boasting a rhythmic quality innate in the group. Urban Highs An adult performance group which has been working with Artist in Residence Temujin Gill over the past few months to create an exciting new performance piece.
