Classical and contemporary bharatanatyam and kathak, featuring 3 wonderful performers of these Indian dance forms, including BBC Young Dancer Category Finalist Vidya Patel. A fast-paced celebration of classical dance leads to a more meditative contemporising of the forms in a piece specially choreographed by Magdalen Gorringe, interpreting poems written and recorded by Birmingham based asylum seekers. This is supported by two works developed with local youth and drama groups. Part joyous, part poignant, always engaging, 'If I Could Reach Home...' celebrates the beauty of dance, the importance of 'home' and the value of all that we hold more in common.
