An all new production is in commemoration of 2007’s bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade, Igbekun is divided into two parts. The first half contains dialogue and dance theatre with traditional songs and music. The second half is purely based on traditional dance forms not performed on stage before. In recognition of the history, and controversy behind the abolition of the slave trade, Osun Arts believe this is the most important show they have worked upon. They are committed to providing an entertaining but thought provoking show, which raises the issue of slavery up to the present day.
