Quicksilver - T1724124825

London Premiere. Butoh, often described as a dance of darkness, has left an indelible mark on the contemporary dance scene and continues to fascinate audiences all over the world. Ko Murobushi, a world-renowned Butoh practitioner, studied under the legendary Tatsumi Hijikata. In Quicksilver, Ko pushes his body to the limit, delving viscerally into a universe of pain and darkness. Ko’s extraordinary muscular body, painted entirely silver, mutates and shape-shifts, conjuring images of a man moving at the very edge of life and death. Quicksilver strips away any notions of movement as decoration and plunges both performer and spectator into a timeless world of pure catharsis.
