La Tipica is a contemporary flamenco company formed in London in 2008. It is an innovative and international collaboration between Jorge Bravo and Natalia Garcia (founders of prestigious Chilean Dance company Palo Santo 2001-2004) Ulises Diaz and Demi Garcia, and violinist Meg Hamilton, all dedicated to expanding flamenco’s musical and choreographical structures, combining elements of contemporary dance, theatre, classical music and jazz. Desde el Silencio, La Tipica’s first work was premiered and showcased in April 2008 and 2009 at London venues including The Place (RESOLUTION dance festival 2009). The company toured Chile in April 2009 performing at the Santiago’s Theatre Telefonica, Theatre Oriente and at Municipal de Viña del Mar, followed up by more recent concert engagements in Spain (Barcelona and Madrid.)
