...smile with my heart, performed to an instrumental treatment of six songs composed by the legendary Broadway composer Richard Rogers. A work for three couples, each of which represents a different expression of love ...smile with my heart turns the traditional romantic pas de deux on its head. The final duet from this piece (set to My Funny Valentine) forms the heart of Altman's forthcoming film, in which Lubovitch stars as himself. Also on the bill is Men's Stories, a tour de force of masculine modern dance performed by nine dancers. Subtitled A Concerto in Ruin - a reference to Scott Marshall's score featuring collages of electronic sounds, operatic arias, pop music, voice-overs and show tunes, all inserted into Beethoven's deconstructed piano concertos - the piece explores the emotional underpinning of male experience.
