’Schreibstück’ is a new and groundbreaking choreographic experiment in which Thomas Lehmen acts as the ‘author’. The same written instructions for his dance piece are sent to three different choreographers to interpret: Estonian Mart Kangro, Klaus Jurgens of the Hans Hof Ensemble from Holland and British artist Pete Shenton of New Art Club. For the performance, the three companies then come together to combine their different versions into one piece of work. Expect a playful, witty and irreverent dance, performed by nine men who up until two days before the performance have never met. Part of MADE IN BERLIN, a season at The Place and BITE: 03 at the Barbican, celebrating the diverse but distinctive contemporary work currently being produced by Berlin’s vibrant community of dance artists.
