Broken
Following on from their focus of water in Scattered, Broken continues Motionhouse's exploration of elemental themes, this time looking at earth. Using multiple layers of scrolling film and Motionhouse's highly physical dance style, Broken creates an intriguing computer game-esque world of tunnels and burrows, shifting perspectives and see-sawing slopes and platforms. From hanging in suspense to diving for support, the dancers negotiate the cracks and craters of this world of illusions where nothing is quite as it seems.
