YMA/HERE

An hour of dance that will make you groove, giggle and gasp. Featuring magical illusions, colourful costumes and live music, this trio of dance is bursting with energy and goes from achingly beautiful to laugh-out-loud silly. The hour-long performance includes the mesmerising and audience favourite, Afterimage by Fernando Melo, where Mirrors are cleverly used to create a unique illusion where characters magically vanish and reappear on stage. A hit online and in theatres over the last four years, Why Are People Clapping!? by Ed Myhill is uplifting, funny and ridiculously clever. It's set to composer Steve Reich's Clapping Music and uses rhythm as a driving force. The dancers clap and stamp to create the soundtrack. Face-pulling, toe-tapping, joy. Faye Tan's new commission for NDCWales' outdoor tour in 2021, Moving is everywhere, forever will move indoors and continue to have all the irresistible grooves, uplifting beats and brightly coloured costumes alongside the soundtrack by Welsh electronic music duo Larch.
