The National Youth Ballet Company showcases the brilliance of youth. This talented young company, who hail from all over the country, will entertain and dazzle a wide audience with their fabulous dancing, spectacular costumes, sets and professionalism.

Ballet Chocolat/Feeling Groovy/Cowardly Affair/Captain Beaky/Les Petit Rats (excerpts)/Lavender Blue

The highly acclaimed National Youth Ballet of Great Britain comes to Sadler s Wells to present a diverse programme featuring the world premiere of Ballet Chocolat. Choreographed by rising star Andrew McNicol, Ballet Chocolat is set to music by Academy Award-winner Rachel Portman (Best Original Score, Emma). Also on the bill, the premiere of Feeling Groovy, an innovative work choreographed by Antony Dowson that pairs classical ballet with some of Simon and Garfunkel s best-loved hits. Alumni Jo Meredith will also be returning to NYB with her celebrated work, Cowardly Affair, performed to music by Noel Coward. Other audience favourites completing the line-up include Captain Beaky, with Jim Parker s music and Jeremy Lloyd s witty lyrics, excerpts from Janet Kinson s visually captivating Degas ballet, Les Petit Rats, and Anna Meadmore s traditional ballet Lavender Blue, ideally choreographed for younger dancers. This year, National Youth Ballet features a cast of 130 talented young dancers from across the UK, aged eight to 18.
