Founded in 2012, and hosted at Sadler's Wells, NYDC is an exciting young company that creates and performs innovative and influential dance, drawing together some of the brightest young talent from across the country. The company has a track record of putting young people on paths to successful dance careers, with over 80% of NYDC dancers going onto further dance studies, in vocational training or working professionally.

Apex Rising is a new annual festival presenting highlights of the most innovative and exciting dance being performed and created by young dancers today. The festival presents two contrasting programmes that capture the power young dancers have in shaping the future of dance. Programme A - Fri 4 - Reflecting on the three years of NYDC, this vibrant, powerful young company perform repertoire made by some of the world's most influential choreographers. NYDC present Inbetween by Jasmin Vardimon, The Rashomon Effect directed by Akram Khan and choreographed by Andrej Petrovic, a restaged excerpt from Akram Khan's Vertical Road and Framed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Programme B - Sat 5 - A surprising evening with a confluence of styles and energy featuring influential work from the National Youth Dance Companies of England, Scotland and Wales, complimented by repertoire from International guests.
