Details

The Churning of the Ocean Milk is a classic story of good and evil, complete with gods, demons, many-headed serpents, magical winged creatures, deadly poison and beautiful apsaras (nymphs). It is considered by some to be the myth of creation in the Hindu religion and also by many Hindus to be the legend behind the modern celebration of the Kumb Mela.
