Wings of Wax, performed to the music of Bach and Philip Glass boasts lavish imagery with a complete tree hanging upside down above the action, as eight dancers emerge from the blackness. Drawn Onward by Lightfoot-Leon sees the dancers faced with a massive door that periodically opens then clangs shut. Curiosity, apprehension, uncertainty and resolve flood through this piece with a compelling and gripping intensity.Producer Dance Consortium.

Bella Figura/Speak for Yourself/Walking Mad - T01144570796 Bella Figura roughly translated as ‘put on a brave face’, captures the physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual aspects of humankind and reveals why dancers choose to dance. Featuring a medley of Baroque music and music by living German composer [Lukas Foss], it contains striking images that are punctuated with flashes of humour. Speak for Yourself is set to [Bach]'s serene Kunst der Fuge. Eight dancers perform a series of intriguing duets and solos, restless movement contrasts with magical stillness in a rain-drenched and smoke-filled setting. Walking Mad is set to Maurice [Ravel]'s Bolero for orchestra and [Arvo] Fur Alina for piano. His earthy, expressive style of movement allows him to portray the shy and helpless traits of man with hearty sentiment and infectious humour.Choreographer Jiri Kylian (Bella Figura).
