27'52"/New Work/Minus 16

[Jirl Kylián]’s achievements in dance are hailed around the world and this is the UK premiere of his most recent work for NDT2, 27’52". The title refers to the precise duration of the piece and it is an exaltation of the dancers’ talents. "The breathtaking intensity of 27’52" makes every second fascinating"- Handelsblad. Large spotlights shift through the dark space casting shadows, texts convey a gamut of emotions and the dance floor undulates, splits and shelters the dancers as they struggle to hold on. Minus 16 is the company’s outrageously funny party piece by the Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin. Set to a fantastically upbeat musical compilation from Dean Martin’s Mambo Sway, cha cha, club house music and traditional Hebrew chant it swirls, moves, sways and stomps; it will leave you clamouring for more or even dancing the night away...
