New English Contemporary Ballet brings a sparkling fusion of classical virtuosity and contemporary edge, performing a mixed bill of new works as exciting as they are varied: the UK premiere of Danses Galantes by internationally-acclaimed choreographer and Director of Ballet Basel, Richard Wherlock; a new commission from the French choreographer Patrick Delcroix, whose recent work for Nederlands Dans Theater has attracted critical acclaim across Europe; and David Fielding, an up-and-coming young British choreographer whose work is increasing attracting attention, completes the bill with his take on what contemporary ballet really is. Under the artistic directorship of Niall McMahon this company of 10 dancers, drawn from around the world, is guaranteed to delight audiences with its versatility and virtuosity in an accessible and broad-ranging programme.
