Join Oxford Youth Dance for two fantastic dance events as part of Dancin' Oxford 2009. On Wednesday, Oxford Youth Dance will be joined by Oxford Youth Dance Company and other guest groups to present a vibrant, exciting and fun evening of dance curated by Cecilia Macfarlane. This is a great showcase for Oxfordshire's talented young people to express their flair and commitment in the creation and performance of their own work. Then on Saturday, Oxford Youth Dance returns to première a new production of the medieval German folk tale The Pied Piper of Hamelin. With a fresh new libretto and music composed by John Duggan specially for the occasion, the performance includes 75 dancers from Oxford Youth Dance (aged 3-9 years), plus members of DugOut Adult Community Dance. The show is driven by a backdrop of symphonic soundscapes, with electronic and acoustic music featuring solo instrumentalists, singers and a chorus of voices from East Oxford Community Choir.
