Southbank centre Artist in Residence, Rafael Bonachela presents an exciting weekend of dance, film, music and the incredible dance photography of Ione Saizar. Rafael takes over the public spaces of Royal Festival Hall to introduce a selection of his favourite national and international choreographers. Choreographers include The Place Prize Winner adam Linder (2008), contestants Ben Wright (2006 & 2008) and Frederick Opoku-Addaie (2006), who co-creates a piece with Jorge Crecis. There are also works from Cameron McMillan (ex-Rambert dance company); Laila Diallo (ex-Random dance) and Spanish based Blanca Arrieta.

Voices is the inaugural programme for his new company of two works with linked themes: Ahotsak is a journey through Luciana Berio's haunting composiion, "Naturale". Six extraordinary dancers explore the walls that surround us - both real and imaginary. The result is sometimes violent, sometimes tender but always innovative. Set Boundaries is an urgent and stylish work highlighting how the voice can be used as a weapon of power. Using a dramatic new score by celebrated electronic composer Matthew Herbert, the dancers play out nightmares of powerlessness and dreams of escape.
